Finance Manager and Supply Chain

Job Description
  • Responsible for consolidation of Plans, Updates, LBE, LRP and month end financial results for the Global Purchasing and Business Operations functions within Supply Chain.
  • This role will be a key business partner with the Business Operations group including Third Party Manufacturing, Strategic Sourcing, Global Production Planning and the Commercial Liaison group.
  • Responsible for alignment of production volumes across multiple functional areas.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis on key strategic initiatives and communicate recommendations in clear, concise manner.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and support the month end close for Global Purchasing and Business Operations including preparation of management reporting packages with clear, concise and effective commentary and facilitation of monthly review meetings.
  2. Financial responsibility for Global Third Party Manufacturing Project Expense, Lake County-based Business Ops. Admin departments and Strategic Sourcing.

Skills/Experience Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of Finance/Accounting experience.
  • Previous Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with individuals across all functions and at all levels of the organization.
  • This position will interface on a regular basis with Directors, Controllers and Division VP’s.
  • The individual must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, along with a proven track record of meeting deliverables.
  • Must have strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles and apply this knowledge to support business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Job Description
  1. Ensure that the General Ledger is set-up to track expenses by project to allow Integrated Marketing to ensure that expenses are within the funding provided and facilitate sharing of information with Business Unit customers.
  2. Provide the financial support for all media; ensure approved PO’s are in-place, prepare monthly accrual from media orders, process media bills for payment and prepare a monthly reconciliation of the accrual to be shared with Business Unit customers.
  3. Ensure that Integrated Marketing projects are completed in compliance with Abbott/Ross policies and sound internal control practices.
  4. Provide the financial support required for each project; includes providing financial approval for all Purchase Orders, processing vendor invoices and/or ACR’s for payment, creating month-end accruals as needed to expense work completed but for which vendors have not yet sent an invoice and reconcile accrual accounts. Set up PO's and ACR as required.
  5. Serve as an active member of the Finance team, supporting Divisional and Business Unit goals.
  6. Ensure that financial information is communicated on time, the information is accurate, policies and standards are met, and the group provides value-added analysis to the end customer.
  7. Monthly accrual for Market research, Label and artwork accrual, and cafe expenses
  8. Prepare balance sheet re-conciliation.
  9. Plan of Purchase tracking.
  10. Support Supervisor on Budgeting, Forecasting and reporting as required.

FX Planning Sr. Analyst

Job Description

Mission Statement:
  • Manage foreign exchange exposures generated by the Affiliate.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the foreign exchange exposure management system similar to the processes currently in place for ALOG.
  • Responsible for hedging foreign currency exposures to minimize the impact of changes in exchange rate movements on earnings.
  • Coordination of foreign exchange exposure forecasting, development of hedge plans for forecasted exposures, and communication of the exposures to Corporate Treasury for placement of internal trades.
  • Evaluate and modify the process to reduce exposures and reduce costs.
  • Develop Plans and Updates for key financing P&L and Balance Sheet line items.
Core Job Responsibilities:
  1. Regularly review the foreign exchange exposures as a result of the distribution plan/strategies of the affiliate with local materials management personnel.
  2. Consolidate the inputs into foreign exchange exposures, and develop a hedge plan to mitigate those exposures.
  3. Prepare the Monthly Hedge form – FX Trade Request and forward to Corporate Treasury to cover the Affiliate’s exposures.
  4. Adjust the hedges, as needed, prior to settlement to reduce exposures as forecasts are updated on status.
  5. Work with Accounting to ensure that all foreign currency denominated assets and liabilities and related exchange gains and losses are properly recorded – see the B.2.0 Financial Procedure.
  6. Support the Treasurer in the preparation of financing expense and income for APO for Plans, Updates, LBEs and LRPs.
Position Accountability / Scope:
  • Reports to the APO Treasurer, who reports into the Director, Finance – APO, with dotted line reporting responsibility to the Distribution Area Treasurer.
  • Total accountability and control of financing expense/income totalling over $140MM in interest expense and $4MM in exchange losses based on the 2012 Plan.
  • The foreign exchange exposures are over $1.7 billion.
  • The risk of mismanaging financing (debt/investment) activities or any one of the foreign currency exposures can cost Abbott as much as $10+ million.
  • Knowledge of the structure, purpose and business relationships behind Abbott International Operations is required.
Skills/Experience Requirements

Experience:
  1. 4 progressive years experience in Finance, Accounting; 1+ years in International Business or Treasury preferred.
  2. Prior experience in an International Area or at an affiliate is preferred.

  6. Follow up goods in transit for month end closing.
  7. Main contact of the TCGM team - support and follow up of TCGM questions.

PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of annual budgets and periodic forecast updates.

  4. Develop and maintain a finance organization capable of meeting Division and Corporate requirements.
  5. Provide financial counsel and oversight for acquisitions, alliances and other strategic programs, including ad hoc analysis and decision support to all functions as needed.
  6. Develop system solutions and process improvements that meet Planning and Reporting requirements.

SYSTEMS AND REPORTING ANALYST

Job Description

Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:
The primary role for this position is to support the US Contracts & Pricing organization in developing a strategic and systematic infrastructure. They will act as a catalyst for change and stimulate others to change based on business needs. They will initiate and implement process improvements across departments and work groups. Most importantly they will develop long-term solutions to today's problems. Solutions will be dynamic and systematic.

This individual will provide ad hoc analysis to support complex decision-making. Propose final recommendations to client. Recognize the financial implications of all management decisions.

This person will also serve as project lead for highly visible projects with significant business implications. To do so effectively this individual must understand interrelationships between functions and provide guidance for overall business decision-making. Operate independently in project management role with significant interface across functions, groups, or sites. Basic Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 5 years related experience in finance, marketing or related area.
  2. Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  3. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access.
  4. Experience using SAP preferred.
  5. Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities.
  6. Accommodating changing priorities while maintaining overall workload is essential.
  7. Proven financial/mathematical competence.
  8. Interpersonal and written/oral communications are vital.
  9. Strong Analytical, financial, and information systems skills are required.
Education Requirements
  • B.S. Finance or Business or related discipline.
  • MBA preferred, but not required.
