Department Overview:
Located in our Chetwynd, BC field office and reporting to the area Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of operations staff and safe management of the companies’ area assets. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the individual would have the technical expertise required to safely optimize production volumes and pipeline gathering systems, while working towards lowering area operating costs.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Shift Supervisors in planning and supervising the daily activities of operations staff
  • Actively support North American Operation’s (NAO) goals of safe and profitable production, lean culture, and an engaged workforce
  • Manage infrastructure operating performance and recommend/implement changes to improve operational efficiency
  • Work closely with inter-departmental teams and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work closely with third party producers to maintain an effective relationship and minimize downtime
  • Coordinate safety and loss control programs
  • Provide input to long term business plans
  • Manage all associated budget activities and cost controls
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to operations staff
  • Actively engage employees and contractors, seeking input and feedback, on issues affecting the department and the company
  • Ensure all operations are undertaken in a planned, efficient, safe and environmentally responsible manner and in compliance with all applicable codes, standards, laws, corporate policies and regulations
  • Communicate and execute the area work plan
Qualifications:
  • 10 years of operational experience including knowledge of sour gas pipeline systems and gas dehydration facilities
  • Experience with facility upgrades, well tie-ins, and gas plant modifications.
  • Technical Diploma or Certificate would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative approaches while maintaining a strong safety focus

  4. Ability to be resourceful and anticipate the team’s needs
Additional Information:
  1. The successful candidate will be based out of our field office in Chetwynd, B.C. and will be required to reside within a 40 km radius.
  2. This position will involve emergency on call rotational coverage
  3. Mobile vehicle status is included
  4. Only candidates who are legally permitted to work in Canada will be considered.
  5. Relocation will be provided for the successful candidates if required.
  6. This is a Safety-Sensitive Position; adherence to Talisman’s Alcohol and Drug Policy is required.
