Summer 2013 Geology & Geophysicist Intern
Work Location: United States - Pittsburgh

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be assigned an area of interest and supervised by a senior Geologist. Each project will serve to support Talisman’s producing properties, undeveloped land, and/or new exploration opportunities. Specific tasks could include constructing geological cross-sections, generating a well database, evaluating core and chip samples, providing recommendations for drilling locations as well as regional mapping and play generation. Each student will work as a member of a technical team that includes geologists, geophysicists, technologists, and engineers. As part of your summer experience, you will also have the opportunity to participate in geological courses and field trips.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Enrolled in a BSc. (or higher) program
• Some work experience in the field of geology would be an asset, but is not a requirement.
• Detail-oriented, a strong analytical background
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
• Demonstrate an understanding and enthusiasm for the oil and gas industry
• Strong written and oral communication skills with a variety of technical and non‑technical staff
• Able to work independently and within in a team
• Professional conduct is fundamental to success in this position
• Proven organizational and time management skills
