At its inception, August 13, 1984, Angkasa Pura II named Perum Cengkareng Jakarta Airports in charge to manage and commercialize Cengkareng Jakarta Airport (now named the International Airport Soekarno-Hatta Jakarta) and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. Dated May 19, 1986 turned into Perum Angkasa Pura II and subsequently dated January 2, 1993, officially became a Limited corresponding Deed Muhani Salim, SH. 3 years 1993 to PT (Persero) Angkasa Pura II.
Currently Angkasa Pura II manages twelve major airports in the western region of Indonesia, namely Soekarno-Hatta (Jakarta), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta), Polonia (Medan), Supadio (Pontianak), Minangkabau (Ketaping) formerly Tabing, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Sultan Sharif Kasim II (Pekanbaru), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), Sultan Iskandarmuda (Banda Aceh), Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjung Pinang) formerly Deer, Sultan Taha (Edinburgh) and Pangkal Pinang (Louth), and serve aviation services to the air (Flight Information Region / FIR) Jakarta.
Along with the growth in Indonesia air transport industry is rising rapidly, Angkasa Pura II has always put forward the best service for users of airport services. Airports managed by Angkasa Pura II has always received an award from the Department of Transportation Prima Pratama Indonesia to the category of Airport Passenger Terminal.
As a State Owned Enterprise that are reliable, for three consecutive years Angkasa Pura II has been awarded the Best Enterprises in Logistics Sector of the Ministry of State Enterprises Affairs (2004-2006) and The Best I in Good Corporate Governance (2006).
Angkasa Pura II is always doing its duty to give dividends to the state as a shareholder and helped to improve the welfare and concern for employees and their families and the general public and the environment around the airport through Corporate Social Responsibility.
Human Resources Development Agency of Transportation (BPSDMP) in cooperation with PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) will hold an Aerodrome Control Tower Training Program (Junior Air Traffic Controller) with the following provisions:
General Requirements:
- Indonesia Citizen Male/Female
- Minimum age 21 years and maximum 28 years as of 31 January 2012.
- Minimum education Diploma and Bachelor degree in all the majors from the PTN / PTS accredited at least B except the department of religion, art, public health sciences, nursing, teacher training, philosophy, agriculture and livestock .
- GPA minimum 2.75 (scale 4).
- Able to speak English actively.
- Healthy expressed by doctors and not color blind.
- Well-behaved stated Police Notes.
- Following the selection process is required.

- Photocopy of a diploma which has been legalized / graduation certificate signed by an authorized official.
