- The Buyer provides procurement services to Murphy’s upstream divisions and projects in support of domestic and international drilling, production, construction and related support services.
- Provide direct procurement support to Murphy’s operations and project teams. Forecast needs and ensure compliance with approved processes, documents and procedures across the upstream division.
- Research and evaluate sourcing options for products and services and execute procurement tasks and duties according to procurement strategies.
- Ensure stakeholder engagement in the procurement process.
- Initiate and evaluate vendor proposals, make recommendations for supplier selection to ensure that operating, quality, and EH&S requirements are satisfied on the best commercial terms possible.
- Provide preliminary invoice review.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients, suppliers and other support service groups.
- Communicate Procurement roles and responsibilities to division and project personnel.
- Manage and promote effective business relationships with vendor companies.
- Look for opportunities to make process improvements and capture savings and value opportunities.
- Facilitate the resolution of conflicts, communication and vendor performance issues as they arise.
- Support Sarbanes-Oxley process compliance for the procurement group.
