DRILLING ENGINEER
DEPARTMENT : DRILLINGLOCATION : JAKARTA
PURPOSE OF JOB :
- Provide engineering support in developing drilling programs based on Basis of Well Design.
- Plan and engineer drilling activities, prepare and monitor drilling operation performance, and provide support in administering drill and service contracts, engineering design, the planning of wells and supervising the drilling crew on site during drilling operation as needed.
- Establish and administering drilling and service contracts.
- Prepare and evaluate tenders for all drilling equipments.
- Undertaking engineering design and the planning of wells (including development work).
- Designing directional well paths.
- Contributing to development of drilling program and drilling procedure.
- Working with multidisciplinary professionals to evaluate the commercial viability of the well and monitor progress during drilling.
- Evaluating proposals for service companies.
- Monitoring the daily progress of well operations and daily costs, and recommending changes or improvements to rig work techniques which could lead to optimization of expenditure.
- Recommending improved solutions, tools, equipment & procedures as necessary.
- Liasing with specialist contractors and suppliers, such as cement companies, aerated drilling service, and drilling fluid service, etc.
- Monitoring safety and ensuring the good maintenance of the well, adhering to environmental protection standards.
Education :
- Bachelor degree in engineering major or technical diploma.
- Minimum 5 years experience in drilling engineering and operations, either or both oil and gas or geothermal.
- Understanding of well control principles, casing design, directional drilling, aerated drilling, drilling mud, cementing program, etc, and basic procurement prosesses.
- Knowledge of pore pressure and fracture gradient issues.
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environment.
- Willing to frequently travel to project sites.
- Fluent in written and spoken english.
